NAMI Fall Classic 5K Walk/Run for Mental Illness

From 12:00PM to 3:00PM

Date: Sunday, October 11, 2015 Times: Check-in & race-day registration 12:00-1:15pm 5K walk/run (chip-timed) starts at 1:30pm Awards presented at 3:00pm Location: Former Lafayette Municipal Golf Course 800 Golfview Road, Lafayette, Indiana Fee: $20 per person pre-registered $25 per person on race day Ages 10 & under FREE Teams: Teams are welcome! Register as an individual, but indicate your team name in the space provided on the registration form. Recognition will be given to the team that raises the most funds for NAMI West Central Indiana. Registration: NAMI Fall Classic 2015 Registration Form Online registration will be available soon. Ninety percent of proceeds from the 2015 event will benefit NAMI West Central Indiana, which advocates for support, effective treatment and education for individuals and families affected by mental illness in our community. Ten percent of proceeds will go to NAMI on Campus Purdue for its startup efforts.

ALZHEIMER’S ASSOCIATION OFFERS EDUCATION PROGRAM

From 4:00PM to 5:30PM

The Association will host education program “Effective Communication Strategies” on Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at West Lafayette Public Library located at 208 W. Columbia St. in West Lafayette. This new education program will explore how communication takes place when someone has Alzheimer’s disease. Identify strategies to help you connect and communicate at each stage of the disease. There are no fees to attend these programs, but registration is requested by contacting the Alzheimer’s Association 24/7 Helpline at 800.272.3900. Purdue Jazz Combo Wednesdays at Marriott Hall

From 5:30PM to 7:30PM

In partnership with the Purdue School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, our student jazz combos will perform in the Marriott Hall atrium. Come for dinner in the John Purdue Room or grab a coffee and gelato from Lavazza while you enjoy the sultry jazz of our student ensembles. Combos will perform on Wednesdays during the following dates: October 7th, 21st and 28th, and November 4th, 11th, and 18th at 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
